"As a young child of a parent with breast cancer, I witnessed firsthand the emotional toll it took on my family. This led me to conduct research on county-level breast cancer disparities, uncovering socioeconomic trends in incidence rates. Motivated by findings, I founded Pink Pack Pals to provide care packages to all families of breast cancer patients, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Pink Pack Pals is a 501(c)3 certified non-profit organization that assembles and delivers care packages (Pink Packs) to Breast Cancer treatment centers for Breast Cancer patients to bring home to their children. Pink Pack Pals works to coordinate events in partnership with various Cancer treatment centers and International non-profit organizations for the families of Breast Cancer Patients. Each Pink Pack is carefully tailored to suit the age of the child receiving one, ensuring that the contents are both appropriate and engaging.
Thus far, Pink Pack Pals has partnered with the Lynn Cancer Center to participate in the Legacy Day Event, an event honoring the families of Breast cancer patients. Pink Pack Pals organized a group of Breast Cancer advocates to distribute Pink Packs to the families attending the event. Pink Pack Pals has also collaborated with International Non-Profits such as CancerBears (a non-profit organization that raises money to donate Cancer Bears and proceeds to support those affected by a Cancer Diagnosis) allowing us to expand the reach of Pink Pack Pals on an international scale. Additionally, Pink Pack Pals collaborated with the Lynn Cancer Center to organize the 31st annual Run for the Ribbons - a fundraising marathon that donates all proceeds to the Lynn Cancer Institute. At the 31st annual run for the ribbons, Pink Packs were distributed and our team actively engaged with attendees, raising awareness about breast cancer and the critical services offered by the Lynn Cancer Institute. Lastly, Pink Pack Pals has been able to collaborate with Teens of Pink Ribbon, a statewide group of Breast Cancer advocates spreading Cancer awareness at various education institutions. This has enabled us to engage with a younger demographic, fostering a sense of community and support among the youth affected by breast cancer."
